Hello there!

As you can imagine at this time of year we have all types of guests from all over the world. A lot of these guests are here on family summer holidays visiting the lakes for the first time. Many of these guests bring the whole family with them, including the dog! Since there have been so many amazing dogs here at the moment, I only thought it was right I made a blog post all about them.

There are many reasons for dogs to love it here at Ouse Bridge Guest House as much as the owners do. The main one being the food! All of our dogs get welcome packs on arrival containing a selection of treats for them to have throughout their stay. In addition to this, they also recieve  a sausage to eat at breakfast while their owners eat their own breakfast. Recently we had a young dog staying with us that had her first-ever sausage -she was very impressed!

In addition to our guest’s dogs, I also have my Mams dog staying with me. She is a 10-year-old terrier called Poppy. All Poppy wants in life is cuddles, sausages and walks. So she is fitting in very well here! Recently Poppy and I walked up Dodd Fell. We were both out of breath and tired when we got to the top but it was more than worth it for the fantastic view of Keswick and Derwent Water. Dodd Wood is only a 10-minute drive from the guest house and a perfect place to walk your dog as there are walks for different abilities including the short walk up to the Osprey Viewpoint.

Your dogs are welcome to make the guest house their home along with their owners. This is why we allow dogs in our guest’s lounge so there is somewhere the whole family can relax after a long walk. We have two large armchairs that look out over the lake which seem to be very popular with a lot of dogs. However, the sofa is definitely the favourite as that is where all the cuddles happen.

We welcome all dogs, so make sure you get in touch soon to plan your stay! To get all the goings-on of the guest house, Joe and I, our guests plus the dogs, make sure you follow our social media.

Hope to see you all soon!
