As some of you may be aware Ouse Bridge Guest House has recently acquired new managers. My self and Joey have decided to write a monthly blog to record the adventures we have getting to know the local area and running a Guest House. We intend to write about our lives here and what we get up to in Lake District. In this blog we are going to tell you a little bit about yourselves.
Hi, I’m Robyn! I grew up in Whitehaven which is about a 30 minute drive from the Guest House, so I spent many weekends in the Lake District. Normally walking around Buttermere or shopping in Keswick. One of my main passions is food. Whenever I have spare time I love going out to the local cafes and tea rooms in the Lakes and seeing who has the best cake. I have been bringing this passion to the Guest House and making sure we have the best breakfast menu we can. Another passion of mine is animals, so as you can imagine living in the Lakes is a dream come true. On a daily basis I see pheasants, sheep, and countless species of birds. As well as living just 10 minutes away from the Wildlife Park. I look forward to telling you all more about my self and our life here at the Guest House in these blogs and in person when you come to stay.
Hi, I’m Joey. I also grew up in Whitehaven but more recently lived in Carlisle, the most romantic city in Cumbria. Before moving here, I was working as a team leader at JD Wetherspoon for 7 years, so was very excited to start a career in a different setting. Outside of work, my favourite pastime is professional wrestling (Yes, I know it’s fake). When not working you will find me watching some form of Pro Wrestling. Other than wrestling, I also enjoy walking and running. I am looking forward to bring that passion to this area of the lakes which provides many beautiful opportunities to do both. I am also looking forward to sampling the many local breweries products and tours; I will keep you updated on those. Have a nice day!
